Muth's Candies has hand-made chocolates in Louisville's NuLu since 1921, run today by the third and fourth generations of the founding family. It's famous for Kentucky classics — bourbon balls and Modjeskas, the caramel-wrapped marshmallows named for a 19th-century actress.
Everything is still made by hand in small batches at the Market Street shop, making Muth's a genuine century-old confectioner and a Louisville sweet-tooth landmark.
