Dutch Girl Donuts has been a Woodward Avenue landmark since 1947, its glowing vintage sign a Detroit icon. Generations lined up for hand-cut, hand-glazed raised doughnuts and apple fritters made through the night the old-fashioned way.
After the founding Timmer family closed the shop in 2021, new owners reopened Dutch Girl in 2024 with the original recipes intact — reviving a beloved institution that Detroiters had feared was gone for good.
